Adopt-A-Street
Program Mission
The Adopt-A-Street program strives to clean up city streets and road shoulders through the work of volunteer organizations.
Why Adopt-A-Street?
Adopt-A-Street volunteers take pride in their contribution to their community and their efforts in increasing public awareness about litter control. Adopting a street is a valuable opportunity to make a difference in the community and enhance the overall appearance of Fort Collins.
How Does The Adoption Process Work?
1. Call City Streets at 970-221-6615 and ask to speak to the Adopt-a-Street Coordinator.
2. Request a specific street segment to adopt; if that segment is unavailable the organization will be assigned an available segment. Adopted streets cover a one-mile section.
3. The adopting group is responsible for picking up trash and litter along both sides of the adopted street a minimum of three times a year.
4. The City provides trash bags, gloves, and orange safety vests to each group, and picks up the bagged litter collected by volunteers.
