Join us Thursday morning to meet other volunteers, learn about gardening in Colorado and get your hands dirty. We will meet in the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden at 300 Laporte Avenue (south side of City Hall). There is free 2 hour parking at City Hall. We will work on a variety of tasks each week including, mulching, weeding, planting & pruning. This volunteer opportunity requires bending, lifting and kneeling. All gardening abilities and levels are welcome- we learn from each other! I recommend wearing pants & a long sleeve shirt to protect your skin. Tools, knee pads, gloves, snacks and beverages provided! The Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, is a free public garden with the purpose of showcasing low water plants that are native and/or regionally adapted. Colorado has limited water resources and a large portion of that is used to water landscapes, so we want to encourage community members to landscape in a way that conserves this important community resource.
