Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Pumpkins on Parade! This fun-for-all-ages celebration of Halloween and the harvest will feature our annual Community Carved Pumpkin Contest, hundreds of pumpkins and gourds arranged across The Gardens in artistic displays and fun and festive activities for the whole family! Training provided at the start of the shift. • Carved Contest Registration - Operate registration table to accept carved pumpkin entries from community members, and help set up the carved pumpkin contest display. Involves moving pumpkins in wagons for part of the shift. This volunteer opportunity can be seated - please notify Hannah. • Greeters/Wayfinders - Welcome and direct guests as they enter, explore or exit the event. Ensure guests are not climbing on or disrupting the displays. This volunteer opportunity can be seated - please contact staff to request a seated role. • Ticket Scanners - Scan tickets at the gate using updated handheld technology. Must have scanned tickets at a 2023 event (besides LC concert) or attend training prior to shift. Must attend training on 10/10 at 4PM or 10/12 at 5PM. • Halloween Games Assistant - Assist with Halloween games and nightly entertainment. Involves setup and cleanup of games, re-setting games between participants and handing out prizes. • Dog Troupe Assistant - Assist the dog performance. Includes handling dogs, interacting with guests and monitoring lines. Must be comfortable around dogs! • Floater - Fill in where needed and assist with giving breaks to other volunteers • Event Setup - Assist with event setup. This may include lifting and distribute straw bales, distribute pumpkins across grounds, carving pumpkins and assembling pumpkin displays. • Specialized Event Setup - Carve, create and assemble specialized pumpkin displays. This volunteer opportunity will use hand tools including drills and hammers.

Volunteer Notes

Volunteers may wear a non-scary, family friendly costume. You will be outside for the shift, dress appropriate to the weather and wear closed toed shoes. Snacks will be provided during shift.
