Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our annual Spring Plant Sale at The Gardens on Spring Creek! The sale will be held in person on May 16th and 17th from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please read the role descriptions and choose the shift(s) that works for you. Training will be provided at the start of each shift. Snacks will be provided for volunteers across all shifts. Those volunteering for double shifts will be provided lunch. Volunteers who sign up to help on the 16th with a shift time starting at 8:15 a.m. are welcome to join us from 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. to shop the sale prior to their shift. All other volunteers can shop the sale before or after their shift. Not seeing any shifts to assist with selling plants? Or are you looking for a shift that is shorter in length? Contact Hannah Krikorian at 970.416.2482 or [email protected] for help or accommodations. Positions: • Annuals/Herbs, Perennials, & Veggies Helper - Answer questions and help sell plants! Must be knowledgeable about vegetables. Involves moving flats of plants. We will provide a plant list ahead of your shift. Help with restocking and cleanup. Involves standing for long periods of time. • Plants Runner - Help with restocking vegetables. Involves lifting, bending, moving racks and carrying flats of plants. Knowledge of vegetables is helpful. Also will help with breaking down tables and supplies. • Floater - Fill in for any volunteer position when needed, including while other volunteers take breaks. Must be flexible. Plant knowledge not required for this position. • Ticket Scanner - Scan tickets at entrance. Involves standing for long periods of time. Requires using technology and reading a small screen. Available only to previously trained scanner volunteers. • Greeter/Wayfinder - Assist with lines and flow, answer questions. Outgoing and friendly! Most positions will involve standing for long periods of time, but seated options available. • Holding - Organize customer boxes at the holding stations - make sure things are labelled and alphabetized, assist guests in finding their items. Involves lifting boxes of plants. • Shopping Assistant - Offer to take boxes for guests to the holding station; restock boxes when there is downtime. Involves walking around the event, carrying boxes of plants and labelling boxes. • Tally Station - Fill out tally sheets during the checkout process. Will be working in pairs, one tallying and one running plants to final hold. Involves counting and differentiating between colored plant tags in a busy setting and carrying plants. • Valet - Assist guests with transporting plants to their vehicles. Involves walking, carrying boxes of plants, and pulling heavy wagons for most of the shift. • Traffic - Monitor loading zone in front of the building; direct shoppers entering event.
