Parks Court Ordered Community Service


Description:

The Parks Community Service Volunteer assists the City of Fort Collins Parks Department in the maintenance of our parks, trails and open spaces. This position involves hands-on outdoor work that contributes to the beautification of our parks, helping to ensure these areas remain clean, safe and enjoyable for our community.   

Responsibilities & Activities:

Volunteers will assist City staff with the general upkeep of parks grounds, including but not limited to: 

  • Trash removal
  • Horticulture maintenance including planting, pruning and watering
  • General landscaping tasks such as mulching, weeding, etc.
  • Other special projects as needed
Time Commitment:
  • Peak Season: March through October (although projects are available during the off-season)
  • Available Days: Monday through Friday
  • Staff Support Hours: Staff support is available between 6 am and 3 pm
Licenses, Certifications, and Safety:

While we welcome volunteers of all skill levels, prior exposure to landscaping tools, horticulture maintenance and general turf care is helpful.

Location:

Volunteers will be assigned to one of our 7 community parks or 43 neighborhood/pocket parks. If you have an interest in volunteering at a specific park, please let us know!
