- Description:
FCVRT is a team of trained volunteers that provide services to residents of Fort Collins before, during, and after emergencies and disasters. FCVRT is dedicated to making Fort Collins a safer and more resilient community. This team does more than disaster response, by actively engaging in activities that increase personal and community resilience and disaster preparedness and promote community bonds.
Participants must complete CERT Basic Training prior to volunteering.
- Responsibilities & Activities:
- Special events support
- Education classes on various emergency preparedness topics
- Participate in team gatherings
- Skill development trainings
- Emergency response activities such as filling sandbags, staffing an emergency shelter, staffing a point of distribution, etc.
- Disaster preparedness
- Administrative support
- Community Outreach
- Time Commitment:
CERT basic training plus 16 hours per year
- Licenses, Certifications, and Safety:
Must pass criminal background and motor vehicle records check
