Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Pumpkins on Parade! This fun-for-all-ages celebration of Halloween and the harvest will feature our second annual Community Carved Pumpkin Contest, hundreds of pumpkins and gourds arranged across The Gardens in artistic displays and fun and festive activities for the whole family! Training provided at the start of the shift. • Pumpkin Carvers - Help carve pumpkins for planned displays. Direction on what to carve will be provided. Basic to moderate pumpkin carving skills/abilities would be helpful. May help with installations as needed. • General Setup - Help move pumpkins, straw bales, and other event supplies around the gardens. Involves lifting, carrying, bending, and walking. • Display Installation Assistants - Help create and build artistic and imaginative displays of pumpkins. Basic hand tool use or construction understanding would be helpful. Ability to lift and briefly hold a standard sized pumpkin above your head is required. You may be asked to step up onto a ladder at times. May help with pumpkin carving as needed. • Carved Contest Registration - Operate registration table to accept carved pumpkin entries from community members, and help set up the carved pumpkin contest display. Involves moving pumpkins in wagons for part of the shift. • Greeters - Welcome and direct guests as they enter and exit the event. • Ticket Scanners - Scan tickets at the gate • Halloween Activities Assistant - Assist with Halloween games and nightly entertainment. Involves re-setting games between participants and handing out prizes. • Clean Up - Assist in cleaning up the event the day after it has concluded. Involves lifting, carrying, bending, and walking.

Volunteer Notes

Volunteers may wear a non-scary, family friendly costume. You will be outside for the shift, dress appropriate to the weather and wear closed toed shoes.
