Where: Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, Approximate address is 10184 West County Road 32C, Loveland. Go to: https://www.fcgov.com/naturalareas/finder/bobcat for more detailed directions. Meet in the parking lot. When: Friday, May 12, 10:00am - noon Program Description: Explore the convergence of shortgrass prairie and foothills plant communities, how they support a web of animal life, and their resilience after wildfire. Hike on the Eden Valley Spur trail, examining plant resources, watching for active animals, and noticing the local geology and wildfire impacts. Accessibility: Program takes place on dirt trails. Easy hike with little elevation gain on uneven terrain on the Valley Loop and Eden Valley Spur trails. Hike is up to 1.5 miles long. Accessible bathrooms available at the parking lot. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen; a hat; rain gear; closed-toe, sturdy shoes; and plenty of water. There is no cell phone reception at Bobcat Ridge.
