Natural Areas After Dark - Mixed Ages

*Registration for this program is required and will close on 9/6 at midnight* Where: Soapstone Prairie Natural Area, Approximate address is 22998 Rawhide Flats Road, Wellington, CO. Go to https://www.fcgov.com/naturalareas/finder/soapstone for more detailed directions. The event will take place in the South Parking Lot, approximate 1 hour from Fort Collins. When: Saturday, September 7, 8:00pm - 10:30pm. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Please arrive on time. The gate will close shortly after the program start. Pets are not permitted at Soapstone Prairie Natural Area. For weather updates, visit the NCAS website at NoCoAstro.org. Program Description: Enjoy a very special night to celebrate dark skies at Soapstone Prairie. Learn about the benefits of a dark sky for humans and wildlife. Then enjoy viewing through telescopes with members of the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society. What to Bring: Dress warmly (for temperatures 20 degrees colder than the actual temperature) and bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Please bring binoculars if you have them! It will make star viewing easier. You are welcome to bring a snack as well. Accessibility: Skygazing will take place in the dirt South Parking Lot. Restrooms are available.
