Natural Discoveries - Mixed Ages

Where: Fossil Creek Reservoir, meet at the outdoor classroom near the parking lot. The entrance to Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area is on Carpenter Road/ CR 32, approximately one mile west of I-25, or two miles east of Timberline on the north side of Carpenter Road; the approximate address is 3340 Carpenter Road. When: Thursday, July 21, 6:30p.m. - 8:30p.m. Accessibility: Program takes place at the outdoor classroom and then on ADA accessible paved trail or wide dirt trails. Mostly easy, with some hills. Accessible parking and bathrooms available at the parking lot. People with disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations. Requests for disability-related services can be made during registration through the activity contact or by calling 970-416-2815 at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the activity. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, a hat, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. You may wish to bring binoculars, if you have them, and a headlamp or flashlight for when it gets dark. Program Description: Learn about the amazing raptors that populate Colorado's Front Range and how we can help conserve them. Observe live raptors up close with a visit from special guest, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program. Then enjoy a short hike with a naturalist to further explore the local environment. Hike is 1-2 miles, easy.
