Voices of the Past - Mixed Ages

Where: Arapaho Bend Natural Area, Meet at the Harmony Transit Center parking lot. Meet at the NW end of the lot near the trailhead. When: Friday, August 19, 2pm - 4:30pm. Accessibility: This program has accessible parking and restroom access. The walk is up to 3 miles, and includes both on and off-trail hiking through varied terrain. People with disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations. Requests for disability-related services can be made during registration through the activity contact or by calling 970-416-2815 at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the activity. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, a hat, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. You may wish to bring hiking poles to help navigate off-trail sections, but they are not required. Program Description: Discuss original homesteaders from Paleo-Indians to the Arapaho and Cheyenne bands that call the area home. Hear stories about Chief Friday, the Buss family, George Strauss, and the Sherwood Ranch.
