This off-trail hike will be about 2.5 miles roundtrip over rough, uneven terrain. • We will be walking through areas with prairie dog burrows (and potentially fleas that could carry plague.) Wear insect repellent from the knees down. • Bring plenty of water and sun protection (hat, sunscreen.) There is no shade at this site. • There is no restroom. • In the interest of providing the safest experience for all visitors, those who are unprepared will be turned away. Registration is required. Parking location is on Timberline Rd, just north of the intersection of Timberline and Carpenter. Entrance will be well-marked with signs/flagging.
