Natural Discoveries - Mixed Ages

Join a naturalist for a winter adventure and first day hike at Pineridge Natural Area. Learn about winter wildlife and the timberline. Please dress for the weather and wear shoes that can get muddy. This program is most appropriate for older children and adults, but all are welcome. 2 miles, easy. Location: Dixon Reservoir parking lot, off of County Road 42C. Approximate address 2750 County Road 42C, Fort Collins, CO. From the intersection of Drake Rd. and Overland Trail turn right on Overland, then turn left on County Road 42C near the Holiday Twin Drive-Inn towards the foothills and Maxwell Natural Area. Drive past Maxwell Natural Area and start heading up the hill. Pineridge Natural Area will be on your left. We will meet at the south end of the parking lot, opposite the bathrooms and picnic area. Masks will not be required for this program. Please physically distance whenever possible and bring a mask to use when distancing is not possible. Thanks! If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste/smell, etc.) do not attend this program.
