Natural Discoveries - Mixed Ages

*Registration for this activity is required and will close on 6/27 at midnight. Where: Gateway Natural Area, parking will be free for those who attend the program. Meet near Picnic Shelter A to get your parking pass. When: Friday, June 28, 10am -12pm Accessibility: Program includes time at an accessible shelter near the parking lot and then a short hike along the gravel road that follows the river. Total distance about 1.5 miles, with little-no elevation gain. Accessible bathrooms available at Gateway parking area. Limited-no cell service at this location. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat / sunglasses, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Trails may be muddy so please wear proper footwear. Hiking poles are a great option if you are concerned about balance on uneven/muddy terrain. Program Description: Through a short shelter program with video and audio clips, we'll compare the lifestyles of a few of Gateway's iconic daylight and nighttime animals and learn how well tuned these animals are to their environment. Then we'll take a walk along the North Fork of the Poudre to explore their habitat.
