Where: Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, When: Sunday February 9th, 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. Meet in the parking lot. Activity Description: Join naturalist Rob Pickett on this easy 3.7 mile hike along the Valley loop trail as we learn about animal adaptations to winter conditions. If snow is present, focus will be on identification of animal tracks and/or scat. Accessibility: Program takes place outside and along an unpaved 3.7 mile trail. People with disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, a hat if you want one, closed-toe, sturdy shoes for outdoor walking in possible snowy and muddy conditions, and plenty of water.

After graduating in the first class of Environmental Sciences at U. of Virginia (1974), worked For EPA for ten years writing Environmental Impact Statements and being the Regional coordinator for Endangered and Threatened Species. The next 20 years, was the greenhouse and gardener supervisor at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Since 1986, has led monthly natural history hikes primarily in the Shenandoah National Park. Moved to Fort Collins in 2019 and lead hikes for the city and county.
