Where Location Change: Fossil Creek Reservoir. Activity Description: Learn about the Bald Eagle! Join Naturalist Kurt W. to explore this majestic raptor's history, behavior, habitat, diet, etc. Learn about migration patterns, and how to identify bald eagles from golden eagles, redtail hawks, and other birds of prey. Examine how human behavior impacts the ecosystem. Accessibility: We will be traveling roughly 1.5 miles across soft surface trail, easy. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat/sunglasses, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Trails may be muddy so please wear proper footwear. Binoculars are helpful for identifying birds. People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations.
