Natural Discoveries - Adult

Where - Nix Farm Offices, 1745 Hoffman Mill Road. When - Tuesday, November 19, 5:30p.m. - 7p.m. Program Description - Much of the interpretive programs and passion of nature lovers center around bird ID and forbs with attractive flowers (“wildflowers”) But what is often ignored are the most important and dominant plant forms such as grasses species of the prairie, shrub species of the foothills and the trees of higher elevation. These plant forms are the base of each ecosystem, most important in the eco-connections of the web of life and the habitat of birds and mammals. This program will center attention on the trees (primarily conifers) in the life zones from the front range through to the subalpine. Twelve conifer species will identify by dichotomous key and 41 PowerPoint images. Accessibility - This program will take place indoors and is in a building with accessible parking and restrooms. What to Bring - Yourself and a pencil if you'd like! People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations.
