Activity Description: Join local environmental nonprofits and natural resource managers for a family-friendly event to explore the amazing lives of beavers: their habitat, their impact on the landscape, and how we can help them thrive. We we will take a short nature walk to an active beaver lodge, look for beaver chew, and investigate other signs of beaver on the landscape. There will be hands-on engagement activities, a short, kid-friendly walk and presentations by people who work to restore beaver habitat across the Poudre Watershed. Bathrooms and parking are available on site. Every kid will receive a free Poudre River Investigator Guide to take home from the Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed! Accessibility: Roughly 1 mile walk over slightly bumpy terrain, easy. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat/sunglasses, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Trails may be muddy so please wear proper footwear. Binoculars are helpful for identifying birds.
