More about the Natural Areas 30th Anniversary The Natural Areas 30th Anniversary kicks off on November 1, 2022 with special activities happening through the end of October 2023. In November of 1992 the community voted to fund Fort Collins Natural Areas with a quarter-cent sales tax which led to the conservation of over 55,000 acres and counting. This effort was initiated by a committed and thoughtful group of citizens including current Councilmember, Kelly Ohlson. fcgov.com/na30

AJ C - Staff/Trainers
I am a Public Engagement Specialist with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas and I organize community programs, programs by request and interpretive communications like signs and brochures. I'm excited to be back in Fort Collins again after being gone for 15 years. My favorite things to talk about are conservation issues, conservation research and raptors!! The black blur in the profile photo is my cattle dog. She never stops moving!

Katsí P - Staff/Trainers
I am a Public Engagement Specialist with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas. I am originally from Puerto Rico, but came to Colorado to get my undergrad degree in Rangeland Ecology and Conservation Biology. I also have a Master's in Environmental Policy and Public Finance & Budgeting from the University of Washington. I love providing equitable opportunities for our community to connect with nature in a meaningful way. ¡Yo hablo español!

Sheila W - Volunteer Naturalist Assistant
I am so thrilled to be part of Fort Collins Natural Areas, as a volunteer naturalist and in other opportunities that come up. Sharing my love of all things nature related gives me the greatest joy. Birds are a particular passion of mine, so I spend as much time as possible out enjoying the beautiful antics of our feathered friends. If you see me out on the trail, binoculars raised, please stop and ask questions, I love to share what I am seeing.
