Firewise Landscaping for Colorado Gardens: Beauty, Resilience, and Safety at Home

 06/06/2026  |  11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
City Hall - Council Chambers  |  Registration Required

Attendees will learn how thoughtful plant choices and smart landscape design can reduce wildfire risk while supporting native biodiversity. Kevin Lyles is a Landscape Architect and Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist. As the owner of Confluent Design, he is bringing fire science into Colorado landscape architecture and expanding the profession’s role in wildfire resilience. He combines experience in open space planning and native landscapes with residential mitigation to help communities explore new strategies for safer, more resilient places. This presentation is part of a larger event: Ecofest and the Xeriscape Garden Party ft. the NOCO Native Plant Swap. www.fortcollings.gov/ecofest. Parking may be limited due to this event. We recommend carpooling, biking or taking public transportation when possible. Space is limited in City Council Chambers and seats will be first come, first served. Registering for this presentation does not reserve a seat, but serves to provide reminders for the event.
