Explore what's in bloom in the Nix Native Plant Garden and learn why native plants are important for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Come away with wildflower seeds and ideas for incorporating native plants in your home gardens. Bring water, sun protection, and any other comforts you might need. Location: Nix Farm Native Plan Garden, 1745 Hoffman Mill Rd. Go north on Lemay from Riverside and turn right on Poudre River Drive (about ½ block north of Riverside). This is located between two medical buildings. After about 1 block, the Poudre River Drive ends and you will see a paved road to your right which is Hoffman Mill Road. Stay on this paved road for almost a mile. The road ends at our offices.

I have been a Master Naturalist with the City since 2013 and have just completed my CSU training as a Native Plant Master Instructor. I especially love to take people out on plant walks and talk about how important plants are the the health of ecological communities. I belong to the Colorado Native Plant Society and am on the Board, where with others to promote awareness of native plants and native ecosystems through outreach, education and citizen science.. Plants rock!!
I have lived in Fort Collins since 1990, and fall more in love with it every year. I love exploring the Natural Areas with youngsters and the young at heart! I learn more with each step I take in the Natural Areas, and I look forward to continuing to explore it with you for years to come!
