Drop-in Community Nature Journaling

 06/23/2026  |  09:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area

Creative By Nature (Community Program)

Where: Fossil Creek Reservoir. Activity Description: A new twist on nature journaling programs! This drop-in style Nature Journaling program will provide opportunity to go nature journaling each month with a volunteer naturalist. We will explore the unique nature journaling opportunities in different natural areas. This is not a formal class, thus will not include formal instruction, rather a gathering for collaboration. At the end, we will gather up at the end of the time to share observations, journal entries, learnings, experiences, and appreciations of the natural areas and the diversity they provide. What to bring: Bring your own nature journaling supplies. Supplies will NOT be provided for this program. "Art supplies” can range from just a pencil and paper, to paints, pens, and colored pencils. Bring whatever you have or enjoy!

Maximum Participants: 20

This photo is of me really getting into my work on the natural areas! I was the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Natural Areas Department from 1994--2019. I trained Master Naturalists, delivered Certified Interpretive Guide training, managed, wrote, and edited interpretive signs and brochures, and I even got out to lead some field trips! In retirement I volunteer with the Natural Areas Department doing a few programs and helping with the bird surveys. Yes, I am still having fun!
