Natural Discoveries (Community Program)

Where: Coyote Ridge Natural Area. Meet in the parking lot at 6:00 p.m. and hike with a volunteer naturalist 1 mile to the cabin. Program Description: Join Natural Areas and Rocky Mountain Raptor Program for a hike and live-bird presentation! Hike with a naturalist and learn more about the Coyote Ridge Ecosystem, and then hear from RMRP volunteers and staff as they teach us about the raptors that call the Front Range home. Program Schedule: 6:00 - 6:45 -participant arrival to parking lot and hike 1 mile to the cabin with volunteer naturalist 6:45 - 7:45 - RMRP presentation 7:45 - 8:30 - final questions, and hike back to parking lot What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, a hat, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. You may wish to bring binoculars, if you have them. ___________________________________________________________________ People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations. After graduating in the first class of Environmental Sciences at U. of Virginia (1974), worked For EPA for ten years writing Environmental Impact Statements and being the Regional coordinator for Endangered and Threatened Species. The next 20 years, was the greenhouse and gardener supervisor at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Since 1986, has led monthly natural history hikes primarily in the Shenandoah National Park. Moved to Fort Collins in 2019 and lead hikes for the city and county.
