Voices of the Past - Mixed Ages

*Registration for this program is required and will close on 7/25 at midnight* Where: Arapaho Bend Natural Area, Meet at the Harmony Transit Center parking lot. Meet at the NW end of the lot near the trailhead. When: Friday, July 26, 10:00am - 1:00 pm. Program Description: Discuss original homesteaders from Paleo-Indians to the Arapaho and Cheyenne bands that call the area home. Hear stories about Chief Friday, the Buss family, George Strauss, and the Sherwood Ranch. Discuss areas contribution to current Colorado Water law and early Poudre River homesteaders. Accessibility: This program has accessible parking and restroom access. The walk is up to 3 miles, and includes both on and off-trail hiking through varied terrain. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat / sunglasses, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Trails may be muddy so please wear proper footwear. Hiking poles are a great option if you are concerned about balance on uneven/muddy terrain. ___________________________________________________________________ People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations.
