Where: Pineridge Natural Area, meet in the Cottonwood Glen parking lot at the southern end of Overland Trail Road. Take Drake Road west to Overland Trail Road and turn left to the parking lot. When: Friday, June 9, 8:30am - 10:30am Program Description: Celebrate spring with a comfortable 2 mile walk to observe the wildflowers that make the foothills their home. In addition, we'll discuss the local geology and wildlife that coexists in this dry shortgrass prairie habitat. Accessibility: Program takes place on uneven dirt trails. This is a slight ascent at the beginning of the walk. Program is appropriate for adults. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring in multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat and gloves, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Hiking poles are a great option if you are concerned about balance on uneven terrain.
