Ever wonder what happens when you turn on the tap or flip a light switch? Behind every drop of water and every kilowatt of electricity is a complex system working around the clock to keep Fort Collins running. In this interactive course, you'll get an inside look at the four utilities provided by the City of Fort Collins. Learn how water, electricity, wastewater and stormwater systems work, what goes into your utility bill, and how small changes at home can help you save money while conserving resources. You'll also discover City programs and services that can lower your utility bill and support a more sustainable community. Utilities staff will be available throughout the session to answer your questions and provide one-on-one support. Plus, attendees will receive free water- and energy-saving items while supplies last, including LED light bulbs, sink aerators, low-flow showerheads, sprinkler timers and hose nozzles—making it easy to start saving money and resources.
