Natural Areas After Dark - Mixed Ages

Where: Fossil Creek Reservoir - Approximate address is 3340 Carpenter Road. The entrance to Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area is on Carpenter Road/ CR 32, approximately one mile west of I-25, or two miles east of Timberline on the north side of Carpenter Road; When: November 8, 3:00 - 5:30am, drop-in at any time during the program Accessibility: All activities take place in a paved parking lot. Very little walking required, accessible parking and restrooms available. What to Bring: Dress for temperatures 20 degrees cooler than the actual temperature and bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Meet in the parking lot. Pets are not permitted at Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area. Please bring binoculars if you have them! It will make star viewing easier. Program Description: Volunteers from the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society provide telescopes and share their knowledge about the stars, planets, galaxies, and more. The focus of this program will be the total lunar eclipse from 3:17 - 4:42am. Register for information, updates, and cancellation info. Registration not required, but highly suggested. For weather updates, visit the NCAS website at NoCoAstro.org. COVID Guidelines: Masks will be optional for all participants and volunteers. Please feel free to bring your own mask for whenever physical distancing is not possible. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste/smell, etc.) do not attend this program.
