Wellness - Mixed Ages

Where: Magpie Meander / McMurry Natural Area, Meet at Soft Gold Park When: Friday, August 9, 2:00 - 4:00 pm Program Description: Explore natural areas and their importance to our local ecosystems and our own mental health and wellness. This hike will be about 2 miles total, on dirt packed trails. Restrooms located at Soft Gold Park. Hikes are intended to be a safe and inclusive space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to gather. Allies are welcome, please be mindful of the safe space. 13+ This activity will include Spanish interpretation and we will discuss intersectionality and how the multiple social and personal identities we all carry interact. Accessibility: Program includes walking around 2 miles on a flat, dirt, trail. What to Bring: What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring multiple layers for both active walking and standing still. Bring sunscreen, a hat / sunglasses, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. Trails may be muddy so please wear proper footwear. Hiking poles are a great option if you are concerned about balance on uneven/muddy terrain. ___________________________________________________________________ People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations.
