The theme for World Migratory Bird Day in 2025 is "Creating Bird-Friendly Cities & Communities". *This program is a drop-in style and registration is not required. Birding walks will leave from the dock every 30 minutes between 7AM and 10AM, with the last walk leaving at 10AM. Register here for updates and cancellation notices.* Where: Fossil Creek reservoir When: May 11, 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Program Description: Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area is great place to see migratory birds! volunteer naturalists will be leading bird walks every 30 minutes starting at 7AM to see what's around the reservoir. Bring your binoculars if you have them and celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with us! Also chat with several partners from the Fort Collins area discussing migratory, bird habitat, behavior, and celebration. Rocky Mountain raptor program will bring some ambassador birds to view! Accessibility: Bird banding will take place a short walk (0.25 miles) down a steep hill in a shaded area. Birding walks will take place on a mostly easy to moderate dirt trail, but will start down a steep hill. Distances vary. Accessible parking and restrooms available. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water.
