Wellness (Community Program)
Where: Primrose Studio. Meet at the studio at 4300 Michaud Lane near Reservoir Ridge. Drive to the back of the parking lot and through the green gate that is normally closed, but will be open for registered participants this day. Activity Description: Join Volunteer Naturalists Therese and Amy for a guided outdoor experience that invites participants to slow down, reconnect with wonder, and engage more fully with the natural world. Through gentle walking, sensory awareness, and simple, reflective practices, participants learn how brief moments of awe can calm the nervous system, support well-being, and foster a sense of connection. Participants will walk away with three actionable, experiential practices they can repeat on your own to provoke awe and stimulate the mental and physical benefits. Accessibility: Program takes place both in and out of doors and along wide dirt roads and trails around the studio. Walk 0.25 miles. Accessible bathrooms and parking available. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, a hat, closed-toe shoes, and plenty of water. ___________________________________________________________________ People of all abilities and disabilities are welcome to participate in all programs and we are happy to make any appropriate accommodations. Amy H - Volunteer Naturalist
I worked in the outdoor industry for 22 years for climbing, mountain and ski equipment and apparel brands. After that I became involved in local land conservation work here in NoCO. I have guided hikes and led outdoor education classes for a nationwide conservation nonprofit, the Family Nature Summits, since (gulp!) 1989. I now work as a freelance writer, connecting the public to the "gee whiz" of nature and science.
