This is a limited event and our first in-person Skygazing and Astronomy event of the summer. If registration fills, please know that we will also have a virtual event later in the month! Please arrive on time--the gate closes right at the program start time and parking is not allowed on the road outside the gate. Pets are not permitted at Bobcat Ridge Natural Area. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Please bring binoculars if you have them! It will make star viewing easier. Participants will be split in two groups. Each group will have an opportunity to look at multiple objects as seen through the telescope via video monitor to allow for distancing. Each group will also learn about the parts of the telescope, and how to use a sky map. A short overview of visible constellations will also be given. For weather updates, visit the NCAS website at NoCoAstro.org. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and physical distancing will be required by any participants and volunteers during this program. No more than 20 people will be present at the program, split into 2 groups. Program requirements are subject to change as CDC and County guidelines are updated. Additional instructions will be sent by e-mail to those registered prior to the program. Waivers will be required to be signed either online or in person upon arrival. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste/smell, etc.) do not attend this program. I am a Public Engagement Specialist with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas and I organize community programs, programs by request and interpretive communications like signs and brochures. I'm excited to be back in Fort Collins again after being gone for 15 years. My favorite things to talk about are conservation issues, conservation research and raptors!! The black blur in the profile photo is my cattle dog. She never stops moving!
