Open Streets is a car-free, family-friendly event. On Sunday, June 16, 1.5 miles of Maple St. will be closed to cars from Putnum Elementary to Lee Marinez Park. Plazas, or groupings of vendors and food trucks, will transform the empty street into a comfortable place to play. Come play at the event or volunteer to help make it possible!
Volunteers Registered: 40 (25 available)Volunteers' primary role will be to escort residential traffic to and from the event route and help control non-local traffic by directing them to established detours. A limited number of information tent volunteer positions are available. Training dates will be announced via email and will occur the week before the event. Lunch will be provided. Sign up for more than one shift, or recruit a friend, and you'll have a chance to win some great prizes! Driving is discouraged as parking is limited. A bicycle is HIGHLY recommended. Plan to bring a hat, sunglasses, sun screen, water, and good walking shoes. Please Note: We need volunteers for all shifts, but especially 1:30-4:00pm at this time!
