Grab a shovel and get your hands dirty for National Public Lands Day! Volunteer with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas and help restore Gadwall Pond, within Kingfisher Point Natural Area. Volunteers will work to plant 1-5 gallon native shrubs around the pond. This is a family friendly event. Project Difficulty: Easy/ Moderate. Less than a 1/4 mile hike to site + somewhat uneven terrain. Lifting of 3-5 pounds and using shovels + hand tools. Please come prepared to work outside. We suggest layers, a hat, sunglasses and close toed shoes. Please bring a water bottle and your favorite work gloves! Natural Areas will provide sunscreen, gloves, water and snacks. We plan to work from 9:00 am-11:30 am and then enjoy lunch after a day of giving back! Registration is required - we will send out directions and parking information closer to the project. NOTE: Natural areas are dynamic and so are we; the project may change for safety, weather, or site conditions. All registered participants will be notified via email at least 2 hours before project start time. Please check your email for updates before you go.

CancelCurrently attending Front Range Community College studying my degree in Wildlife Technolgy. I want to work with wildlife and help protect them. I am trying to get as much experience as I can and learn as much as I can about natural resources. I think teachings kids about natural resources is fun and I love working with kids and helping them learn about the outdoors and what good it is to work in the community.
