Wade the River Session 2

 07/14/2020  |  11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Shields St River Access  |  Registration Required

Special Events - Mixed Ages

Use dip nets and collecting trays to discover what lives beneath the surface of the Cache la Poudre River. Biologists will be on hand to help identify your finds. All dip netting equipment is provided but no waders will be provided this year. Bring your own towels, wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet, and sun and mosquito protection. COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: This activity is being split into 2 sessions to allow for proper physical distancing and to accommodate group size restrictions. Each session will consist of a 5 minute introduction and a 40 minute exploration time which will allow time for collecting and identifying various critters that live beneath the surface. After the 40 minute exploration time, we will ask the participants to leave the area to allow time for staff and volunteers to disinfect equipment prior to the next group coming in. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and physical distancing will be required by any participants and volunteers during this program. No more than 25 people will be present at the program. Program requirements are subject to change as CDC and County guidelines are updated. Additional instructions will be sent by e-mail to those registered prior to the program. Waivers will be required to be signed either online or in person upon arrival. If you or anyone in your household is experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste/smell, etc.) do not attend this program. Visit https://www.larimer.org/health/communicable-disease/coronavirus-covid-19 for more information.

I am a Public Engagement Specialist with the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas and I organize community programs, programs by request and interpretive communications like signs and brochures. I'm excited to be back in Fort Collins again after being gone for 15 years. My favorite things to talk about are conservation issues, conservation research and raptors!! The black blur in the profile photo is my cattle dog. She never stops moving!
