Where: Gateway Natural Area, parking will be free for those who attend the program. Meet near Picnic Shelter A to get your parking pass. When: June 25, 9:00a.m. - 11:30a.m. Accessibility: Program takes place on steep, uneven dirt trails with 430ft. of elevation gain over 1.5 miles. Accessible bathrooms available at Gateway parking area, but trail is not accessible. No cell service at this location. What to Bring: Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Bring sunscreen, a hat, closed-toe, sturdy shoes, and plenty of water. You may wish to bring walking sticks if you are unaccustomed to steep terrain. Program Description: Discover Colorado's origins as pieced together by geologists using the theory of plate tectonics and evidence along the Black Powder Trail.
