Volunteer Opportunities - 16 +

Volunteer to help expand the Laramie Foothills Bison Conservation Herd. Volunteers will work to remove old wire cattle fencing to make way for the phase II pasture expansion. Duties will include pulling t-posts, removing wire ties and rolling up wire. All necessary safety equipment including gloves, glasses, and snake chaps will be provided! Please come prepared to work outside in the sun - wear long pants, close toed shoes, a hat and sunscreen. Natural Areas will provide sunscreen, water, snacks and lunch - if you have any food allergies or restrictions, please email Diane Wendt at least 2 days before project [email protected]. We have partnered with Odell Outreach to make for a great volunteer day! For carpooling purposes, we will be parking at Odell Brewery (800 E Lincoln Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80524) at 7:30 a.m. There will be 2 carpooling vans taking volunteers to and from Soapstone. The vans will leave at 7:30 a.m. sharp - we will be back at the brewery at about noon to enjoy lunch on the patio! (Note: you do not need to be 21 to enjoy lunch with us at Odell's but for those of you that choose to enjoy a brew after all of your hard work - Odell's has graciously offered to take care of your first round). NOTE: Natural areas are dynamic and so are we; the project may change for safety, weather, or site conditions. All registered participants will be notified via email at least 2 hours before project start time. Please check your email for updates before you go.

Currently attending Front Range Community College studying my degree in Wildlife Technolgy. I want to work with wildlife and help protect them. I am trying to get as much experience as I can and learn as much as I can about natural resources. I think teachings kids about natural resources is fun and I love working with kids and helping them learn about the outdoors and what good it is to work in the community.
