Enjoy the shade of our Champion trees with a tour led by Tim Buchanan, City Forester. Champion trees are among the largest trees of the species in the state, not only in height but in canopy width as well. City Park represents a highly diverse planting of tree species making it a special place to discover what trees can grow in our region. There are over 700 trees in this 76 acre community park, representing 220 different species. This small part of the urban forest is constantly changing and offers citizens a great opportunity to learn about the diversity and benefits of trees. Trees help make Fort Collins a great place to live and play.
