Natural Discoveries - Mixed Ages

The Bobolinks are back! Each year for a short time, we are visited by one of Colorado's rare birds, the bobolink, and they only come to one place in Fort Collins, Reservoir Ridge! Kids, bring your parents for a fun morning of bobolink spotting with a volunteer from Fort Collins Natural Areas. We will take a short hike and learn to listen and see this special visitor and some of its friends. The trail is flat and easy. All materials will be provided. Location: Reservoir Ridge, meet at the trail-head on Overland Trail Rd. across from the Poudre Overlook subdivision.

Maximum Participants: 30

Amy H - Volunteer Naturalist

I worked in the outdoor industry for 22 years for climbing, mountain and ski equipment and apparel brands. After that, I became involved in local land conservation efforts here in NoCO. I have guided hikes for the Family Nature Summits, a nationwide conservation nonprofit, since (gulp!) 1989. I love getting people outside, connecting them with the outdoors, helping them challenge themselves and better understand the natural world.

In my career as a journalist, my most enjoyable work has involved the natural world. I became a Master Naturalist in 2017 and am delighted to continue learning about the local ecology and introducing others to its wonders. I also worked for twenty years as a writer-in-residence in Missouri schools, leading creative writing workshops. My degrees are in journalism and French.
